Snooker Legends - 28 May 2010

Fri 28th May saw five snooker legends come to King George’s Hall for a one night only of snooker nostalgia, with some of the greatest players ever to play the game. Jimmy White, John Parrott, Cliff Thorburn and Dennis Taylor competed against each other to be crowned the Blackburn Legend 2010. John Virgo was the host and compere for the night.

Were you there? What did you think?

Yes I was there, I was hoping to see Alex but none the less it was an excellent evening of superb quality snooker from players who are still very good and capable on the baize. We were treated to some very good breaks and entertainment.
Sadly I was up in the balcony so couldnt quite hear all the comments from the table by the players.
The person who won the raffle for a frame made a total and complete backside of himself. The look on Johns face at his behaviour, I was embarrassed for him and cringing in my seat.
All said, I am hoping you can book them again or have snooker on a more regular basis or even host a tournament.

I went with my father who is 78 and he loved it , we had VIP tickets and met the players and had a drink with them back stage all the guys were really friendly and chatted with us for a while and posed for photos with us , it was brilliant and will come again next time they come to town , what an awesome night , thanks a lot , Ian thompson

it was a very well presented night, appart from stewards not knowing what was going on there was a lack of comunication with each other and we were left waiting to go in because no one new when to let the public in.would i go to another event a kgh i would have too think hard.

The Snooker Legends night was amazing. John Virgo was amazing with his wit and calm persona, Michaela, Dennis and Cliff were truly entertaining, Jimmy was snooker at its best, to see two 100 breaks with a night of fun was just such a bonus. Shame about the raffle winner, it was an opportunity wasted and his rudeness was unforgivable, he even left his cue on the balcony, ignorance personified. But the Snooker Legends team were amazing, thanks for signing autographs afterwards, it was an honour to meet such ‘legends’ from my generation.

We booked originally to see Alex,so were disappointed he wasn’t there. The night was still very enjoyable inc the vip part.I hope a Alex and Jimmy exhibition can be organised,as soon as Alex is well.

Fantastic night. The players and the lovely Michaela Tabb were very entretaining. shame about the bafoon that won the raffle - what a shame this great prize didn’t go to somebody who would have appreciated it. All the players handled him as best as was possible.

great night thanks

I took my Mum who really wanted to see Alex, but nevertheless had a really good night. We were in the balcony so we didn’t hear some of the comments from the players. Would have been better if the players had microphones attached to them. As for the guy who won the raffle, it was a shame it didn’t go to someone who would have appreciated more. Overall a good night.

Fantastic night! The interaction with the crowd was brilliant!! All the players were very approachable and stayed for signatures and photographs at the end! A top night and highly recommended!
