Diversity 10th June 2010

Thursday 10th June saw Britains Got Talent winners Diversity come to King Georges Hall. With special guests Amber, Fe-nix, and Out of the Shadows. Blackburn saw Diversitys signature dance moves and a  great atmosphere!

Were you there? What did you think?

I spent £75 on this show and feel I been completely ripped off. The show was miss sold. I endured 1 hour and 40 minutes of appalling acts before Diversity made a brief appearance (15 minutes if that). Had I known I wouldnt have wasted my money!!

I thought it was a very mixed evening. Supports acts could have been better. Diversity’s performance good but far too short. Not even and encore!

Diversity were fab but think they should have done routines between support acts as theses went on for too long and the stars of the show were on on for half hour at the end.

Diversity were on stage for 30 minutes, they danced for 17 minutes. I know. I timed it because I was that bored by the time they came on! I had to endure an 80’s washed up singer trying to reclaim his young (he wasn’t that good first time round), some teenage girl screeching (my child said his ears hurt) and my favourite - a bunch of girls singing a song B.I.T.C.H - let me tell you I was not and am still not impressed with my child listening to that one. All in all a waste of money. Diversity were great for the time that they were on but I feel well and truly ripped off, and so did everybody else judging on the comments I heard on the way out.

I took my three children to see Diversity aged 5, 7, and 9 it cost me £110.00 for 19 min.
We sat for nearly 2 hours watching absolute rubbish although at the time thought it would be ok if Diversity came on and did a really good show.
At 9.10pm Diversity came on thanked us for buying tickets and told us about a 2hr show they would be doing at the appollo, they did 19min of that show and then left.
Although they were good for £110 i was discussed and so were hundreds of other people…not happy. I have emailed the tour manager but dont expect to get any response.

I was there last night!!! woohoo diversity were amazing and sooo hot!!! one thing really cheesed me off was the men who were guarding the doors etc. to stop the flow of people kept pushing us out of the way when we were meeting diversity and kept putting their hands in front of my camera to get rid of us…my friends and i paid £130 all together so obviously wanted to make it worth and take pictures with the crew and didnt want to take pictures of random men’s grimy hands.Next time be more polite and gentlemen like and let people take their pictures..for some its a once in a lifetime opportunity dont ruin it for them :)

Diversity great, when they eventually came on stage!!!!! What a complete and utter waste of money. Bought 5 tickets and my 9 year old daughter was nearly asleep by the time Diversity actually made an appearance 11/2 hours after the tickets stated! They appeared for 40 minutes in which they performed a 10-15 minute dance competition within this time for the 6 selected people to come onto stage to try and copy what Diversity were doing! I come to Christmas Panto’s to watch this!
In my appearance is was an absolute waste of money and i certainly say it’s the worst concert of many that i have been to.
The performance was dragged out to make money.

I attended this show after purchasing tickets from ticketmaster for £25 each. Amber was absolutly terrible, the compaire was terrible and could of made an effot, fe-nix was ok and could go far if they dropped the cheesenes. Then diversity who are very good at what they do, however when you pay £50 for tickets to see them one would expect them to be onstage for more than 40mins!!!!!! I am absolutly disgusted and feel i have been totally ripped off and will be complaining to ticketmaster and diversity management and will probably never attend king georges hall again!!!! i would apreciate a reply from the management!!!!!

Absolute waste of money, I completely agree with the earlier comment, the girl bands song was inappropriate for my eight-year-old son, the eighties wannabe was diabolical and the female vocalist hurt our ears! Diversity were good but just there to sell their future tour, which after last nights events we won’t be going too.

What an absolute rip off! I spent £130 on taking the family to see diversity of which they only danced for 15-20minutes and stated as they came on stage that this was a sample of there actual tour that they would be doing at a later date. Although diversity were only on for a short time they were brilliant! The rest of the show however was very unprofessionally staged and seemed to be an amatuer talent show of which the audience had no interest in watching. Most of the support acts had no relevance to diversity and my 8 year old son who has a keen interest in street dancing was very dissapointed at having to endure a desperate 90’s throwback and other singers of which we hadnt come to see. This concert has completely been missold to the public and I will think again before booking an event at King George’s Hall. To charge people £25 each to see what was ultimately a cheap and unprofessional talent show is a disgrace!!!

I was utterly disappointed with last night’s show. After sitting through an hour and a half of utter rubbish, Diversity were on stage for 40 minutes, 20 of these they were pulling kids up on the stage. That would have been a great touch to the show, had the crowd not been waiting for them for such a long time and suffering awful act after awful act. People paid A LOT of money to watch a PROFESSIONAL show. That was NOT professional. Diversity were excellent, but £25 a ticket, that works out at nearly a pound a minute to watch them dance. I feel completely ripped off and from reading the other comments i’m really pleased to see i’m not alone. The sound/lighting engineer was utterly shocking. I was sat in the stalls, and I am used to watching live acts play/sing to loud music, but it was actually painful to listen to the singers, it was far too loud and my ears were suffering afterwards. The lighting flashed right into the crowds eyes and was far too bright. There were not enough staff members guiding people where to go before and after the show, so people were all over the place trying to find the exit and queueing to get out. All in all, the night was an absolute waste of money and huge disappointment.

What a waste of money!!! £110 for 4 of us to watch 17 mins of diversity, they were great but the so called support acts were terrible. My 8 year old was so excited but by the time diversity were on stage she was nearly asleep!! It was only £130 for my eldest daughter and 5 … yes 5 friends to watch the diversity tour in April at Manchester Apollo!! I feel totally ripped off, it says nothing for King Georges Hall.

I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Diversity were good but they only dance for like 15 minutes! I liked one of the support acts, the man who I can’t remember his name. But I came to watch dancing not singing!! I never want to hear fe-nix again, my gosh they were so annoying!! ‘They call me B.I.T.C.H.!’ (I wonder why). I waited with my brother for 1 hour and 45 mins for diversity to come on. I thought it would be a big fancy beginning performance but all they did were walk on! The dancing was great but I didn’t feel like the dancing was as good as when they did Britain got talent e.g. the funny buzzer thing!! I don’t think it was worth the money to tell the truth, no affence on diversity.

I echo all of the above. Very disappointed with Diversity’s length of performance. I love them and saw them at the Apollo which was a fantastic well, worth the money show. However the acts before Diversity were not very good the dancers from Blackburn were AWFUL! I really feel that this was a whistle stop visit for Diversity and they have cheated thier fans. I didn’t even realise they had finished after only 40 minutes. I sat in my seat thinking where is everyone going??!! I shall be complaining to ticket master and to the official management for Diversity.

Unfortunately I agree with most other comments made - the karoke debacle prior to a timed 19 mins show from DIVERSITY was shocking - I believe I was mis-sold tickets to see DIVERSITY this was a show case of other acts and not the best ones at that - the local boys did a fab job as did DIVERSITY albeit short lived - however I am sure the local boys wouldn’t have expected me to pay £48 for my daughter and myself to watch them. Not value for money and Not impressed. Would actually like my money back !!!!!

I spent £100 on 4 tickets to see diversity and felt it was a complete and utter sham - diversity only came on for 20 minutes - feel absoutley annoyed and feel the tickets were badly sold on false pretences and overpriced for what we got - I have written an official complaint to the manager and feel it was definately not value for money. An absoloute waste of money and a huge disappointment. All customers should be compensated with their full amount of money returned. A TOTAL RIP OFF.

Very disappointed with the show as a whole. 1st half consisted of poor support acts which didn’t justify the ticket price. Diversity were good for the very short time they finally appeared but what a strange end to the show - no encore or finale, in fact I didn’t realise it was over til everyone started leaving! Not what we expected at all - supposed to be a special treat for my daughter and grandson but it was a bit of a flop for the price paid.

I took my children to see ”Diversity” which cost me £75.00,the show started at 7.30pm and we had to sit through a gruelling 1 1/2hrs of terrible support acts, the people we went to see ”Diversity” came on just after 9pm took people from the audience and in my opinion wasted time teaching them how to dance,I didnt pay to watch that, after that Diversity only danced for 1/2 hr,if id have know that was what i was getting for my £75 i wouldnt have bothered,Dont get me wrong diversity are fantastic, but i saw more support acts than them and that wasnt what i paid to go and see…….. VERY Disappointed family of 3

I feel the same as most other people who have commented, It cost me £83 for myself my wife and my daughter, I was expecting to see alot more of Diversity, I was bored to tears with all the other rubbish on display and as for those annoying girls !! At least they danced alot better than they screeched ( my ears are still hurting) Maybe this was a ploy to keep me spending at the bar ?? Diversity were brilliant but breif to say the least … overall id say the show was a let down but im sure Diversity will still sell out concerts :)

Bit of a disaster!!, Wont be going back to King Georges in a hurry. Paid £27 a ticket X 5 and Diversity danced for 17 mins. Support acts not good. Feel totally ripped off.

i feel totally ripped off and very disappointed. i spent over £80 for 3 tickets. Diversity were fantastic when they finally came on but the support acts were absolutely terrible. Who wants to see some singer from the 80’s that hardly anybody has heard from?? There was a lot of young children in the audience who would not have had any idea who he was. I was ready for walking out when he came back on again!! The other acts were equally bad especially the girl band who looked like they were lip synching. To endure over an hour of terrible acts was mind numbing. My children were very disappointed with the evening. I attend a lot of concerts and could not believe when it ended that Diversity did not come back on stage for an encore and the lights went on. All in all it was a very disappointing night and i had very unhappy children at the end of it.

O I nearly forgot !! The young martial arts lass was absolutly fantastic !!! Very, very talented indeed :)

Basically everything I wanted to say has already been said. Diversity when they came on stage were fantastic and great to watch. The rest was really dissapointing.
Felt like we were ripped off.

What a shame

totally agree with the above comments,i too feel completley ripped off.

I felt like Simon Cowell watching Britain’s Got Talent - just a shame I didn’t have a buzzer to press! Thought support acts were poor and at £25 a ticket (x4) it was disgraceful that Diversity were on for such a short time. Went to see Take That who were on for 2 hours with great support acts, excellent souind, lighting and stunning show for £60. Much better than price difference represents. Diversity were excellent while they were on. I don’t blame them but whoever promoted the show had the format and acts totally wrong.

Absolutely disgusted and I feel completely ripped off this was the worst show I have ever seen. I will be complaining to ticket master and asking for a refund, and will not be purchasing tickets to Diversity’s upcoming tour.
The show appears to have been miss advertised as Diversity plus special guests! The guests spent nearly 2 hours of the 2 and half hour show on the stage and should have been billed as the main event with Diversity as the support act.
The guest/support acts where shocking, with the exception of the local group Saints, (no I am not a relative) who where at least entertaining. At times it felt like I was at a pantomime and the constant criticism/discussion with the sound man or DJ was in bad taste, surely a sound check or rehearsal had been done before the show?
I also wonder how many parents of young children had to listen to them singing B.I.T.C.H and explain what it means on the journey home, this was a very poor choice of song for a young family audience.
Diversity themselves were very good when they performed however 20minutes of the 40minutes they graced us with was used as audience participation, (pantomime), and to advertise their upcoming tour.

I too was very disappointed with the show Diversity themselves were impressive but for £25 per ticket I expected to see a little more of them and a little less of a load of rubbish both Amber and Fe nixwould probably have been buzzed in Britains Got Talent (They were truly awfu) The sound syten was so bad it was impossible to tell what people were saying and when Ashley was introducing the group the background music was so loud you cou;dn’t hear what he was saying. Would it have been too much to ask for more of Diversity between the rubbish or at least some quality dancing instead of horrendous warbling from the groups and and the compere. He came on after the interval and everyone expected Diversity but what did we get but 2 more appalling songs from him which noone was listening too. A rip off and mis sold concert Not the real thing.

My husband and I took our daughter to see Diversity for her 8th birthday, paid over £80.00 for three tickets and Diversity only performed for 20 minutes and that is being generous. They were fantastic when they were on stage, however I cannot express my shock when the lights came on and the hall emptied almost as soon as it started. I had no idea they would only be on stage for such a short time.

The warm up acts were ok, however I most certainly would not pay £25.00 to see them!!!!!!!!!! My husband had to take my daughter out at one point as the music was hurting her ears.

When I purchase the tickets, I thought it was to see Diversity and I think something should be done to reimburse us so that we can buy tickets to see the real concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with all the other people who have complained. When I booked this show I thought I was paying to see Diversity, there was no mention of all those other acts that we had to sit through. This show was definitely mis-represented and I feel very annoyed that I have parted with £83 for 3 tickets. We have never visited this venue before and if this is how the customer is treated we won’t be visiting again. I have great admiration for Diversity and was really looking forward to seeing them “live” - however, last night felt like we had paid to sit through an advert for their forthcoming tour - which, unfortunately, I now think I will give a miss. They should be made aware of how many people have been disappointed, or their many fans will cease to part with their money.

further to my comments earlier i would like to know who diversity tour management are and how to contact them as i am disgusted how so many people have been ripped off! please post on here!

I was disgusted with last night’s show, my 7 year old and me were really looking foward to seeing Diversity perform, but by the time they came on stage we were ready for leaving we were so fed up and bored. Watching those “special guests” was torture, Amber looked and sounded wooden and that girl group were just terrible.
It was a show for yougster’s and it was not fair to make them sit and wait from 7.30 till 9.15.
Diversity were good when they came on but only for 1/2 hour and most of that time taken up getting kids up on stage.
It was a disappointing evening and a waste of £50.

I totally agree with everything already said on here, feel totally ripped off and this should have been advertised correctly. Yes we know when you go to see anyone you expect to see support acts, but that is what they do … support, Amber was actually on for longer than Diversity. Diversity were fantastic but they were on stage no longer than 25 minutes. This event was packed with young kids and the support acts should have been geared towards them, not listening to a group of chavs singing BITCH, yes even 5 year olds can spell now. This event was totally misold, overpriced and I will be seeking compensation for my total waste of £48

The support acts were quite good but Diversity should of been on for longer as that is what we paid for. We feel totally cheated as my 11 year old son was looking forward to seeing Diversity which were only on for a short time and it cost me £25 for his ticket as well as my own. I feel that kids should of at least got there tickets for half price or we should get some compensation for being miss sold tickets to see Diversity (at the very end of the show for a mere 15 minutes), and having to sit through 5 acts which my son has never heard of or paid to see.

I can only reiterate what has been said before. Diversity were fantastic for the short time they were on and my 10 year old daughter adored them. Not so the 80’s throwback and annoying singers- wouldn’t you expect dancers as the support act for a dancing crew???? It was not worth the money for the very short time that Diversity were on. This show was definately mis-sold and refunds should be made……………….

I couldnt agree more with the reviews posted to far. I came back after the concert and put a review on the ticketmaster site and have also asked for a refund. It has been misadvertised as a Diversity concert on all the literature and the tickets, where is was a local acts event with Diversity making a brief appearance. Refunds should be made and I will continue to persue for it…

I feel that the show was mis-represented. We saw too much of the support groups/soloists and not enough of Diversity. Also I think the songs by the Fi-nix group were totally unsuitable for the age of the audience - there were many young children!

For the short time that Diversity were on stage they were fantastic - but this did not make up for the time we sat listening to complete and utter rubbish! Will we be getting a refund?

I too feel totally Ripped off dont get me wrong Diversity when they were on were excellent, but of the other acts they put on were Poor, and who is out of the shadows i dont remember them being on. All i want to know is were do we get a refund from !

TOTAL MISS SELL !!! Should rename - Guests with a little Diversity. What a rip off. Less than 20 minutes dancing by Diversity. Support acts - well what can I say ‘Tallent show from a holiday camp’ !!! Why screach a song call BITCH to an audiance of mainly, by this time tired, children. A full refund should be offered to all. Over 2 hours of our lives wasted that we will never get back. To top the night we went to buy a t-shirt from the traders outside to be met by abusive behaviour and language by one of the sellers. A total sham.

I totally agree with the above comments. I thought the special guest was going to be Acki the little boy who won the dancing competition. (more fool me).. The support acts were dreadful, The male singer was boring, the people next to us were playing games on there mobiles to pass the time!! I didnt like the girl Amber, her voice screeched in my ears..And as for fenix, what a load of rubbish. Didnt like the way they came across, the song ‘B.I.T.C.H.’ was not nice for young children, they even asked them to sing along to the chorus!!! I feel totally ripped off, Thought Diversity were very good but not on long enough. The girl dancer with them was amazing. I think we should get a refund, the whole thing was totally over priced. Will be complaining to those concerned…………

Totally agree with all the other comments. When i booked the tickets which i bought from the KIng Geoge’s Hall ticket office i should have been told that Diversity would only be a very small part of the show. The support acts… well if you can call them that, they were terrible, especially Fe Nix… not at all suitable for young children. I bought 2 tickets for my wife and i and had to rush back from a holiday for this show and had been looking forward to it all week— wish i had never bought these tickets as we got totally ripped off and left very dissapointed. Diversity good for 20 mins… will think again before we attend any more shows of this kind and i won’t be paying to see Diversity again!

Totally ripped off. My Daughter was really looking forward to the show but spent the majority of it slumped in her seat. Then I had to explain to her and her friend why Fe-nix were shouting - or was that singing B.I.T.C.H!

How do i get a refund!

I went to see Diversity and will not repeat what everyone else has said as I agree with all comments. What I will say though is I was disappointed with the support acts and dissapointed with the length of time Diversity were on stage but, when they were on stage they were absolutely brilliant.

I took my daughter to see them in the Apollo in Manchester and they were on stage with a mix of others for around about 2 hours! The show was absolutely brilliant and shows Ashley’s talent as a choreographer too. I do recommend this show.

I don’t know who organised this event or the support acts but whoever did whether it be mangement or Diversity, the mangement have let down Diversity, if Ashley organised this then he has let Diversity and himselft down as this could have been a good showcase for them.

I bought the tickets on the strength of the Appollo performance as I wanted my husband to see them. He said he was dissappointed with the time they were on stage but did enjoy their performance.

Well abolutely disgusted with show. Mis-advertised therefore I think all who bought tickets should be reimbursed as people did not receive what they paid for.
An apology for wasting people’s prescious time should also be given by someone.
