Jools Holland brings his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra to Blackburn

Music taste maker Jools Holland brings his incredible 19-piece orchestra to King George’s Hall this July.

The band leader, television host and new wave pioneer formed The Jools Holland Big Band – comprising himself and Squeeze band mate, Gilson Lavis – in 1987, and gradually metamorphosed into the current 19-piece Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.

While the maestro is perhaps more familiar ceding the stage to anyone who’s anyone on his BBC Two show: Later…with Jools Holland, it is behind the piano that he truly proves his place as the pre-eminent authority of great music.

As well as formidable live performances, Jools Holland has continued to establish himself through prolific and incredibly energetic performances, incorporating his infectious enthusiasm for new sounds and an almost tireless dedication to introducing British music lovers to hidden gems.

Special guests include Pauline Black and Arthur “Gaps” Hendrickson from the Selecter, who will be performing a selection of tunes with Jools and the band.

This evening is a no brainer for any music fan!
